Video games to get you through the flu

This is an abbreviated post. I’ve been down with the sickness all weekend.  It’s some type of flu. Probably not the bird or swine variety, but I’m not a doctor so who knows. All I know is I’ve been staying in bed for a good 16-20 hours a day, occupying my time with TV reruns and the occasional video games:

Osmos (iPhone, iPad, Mac, PC)

Osmos

Osmos is a beautiful game where you maneuver your amoeba around a void, engulfing smaller particles and avoiding getting eaten by bigger ones. Combine surprisingly addictive gameplay with a minimalist electronic soundtrack and you’ve got a game that goes well with Tylenol PM.

Dr. Mario (Nintendo)

Dr. Mario

A classic. Dr. Mario falls into the same category as Tetris, Bejeweled and other 8-bit favorites. It’s easy to lose track of time playing this, plus, the shoddy state of your classic NES is probably comparable to your general state of well being.

Resident Evil (Playstation, PC, GameCube)

Resident Evil

Just concentrate on getting better. If you don’t, you may wind up on the wrong end of a S.T.A.R.S operative.
